CIS has two kinds of binding machines. Reservations are recommended. Call 956-8075.

CIS can not sell supplies. The binding supplies are available from local vendors such as GEBCO, EMA, or Lamination House.

CIS technicians will assist with setting up the equipment and reviewing its operation.

Spiral Binding

The spiral binder uses binding combs that allow the bound material to open flat. In addition, spiral bindings can be opened and pages can be added, removed, or replaced using the same combs, depending on the number of pages. Binding combs come in many sizes.

Velo Binding

The Velo binder is the heat-process type. The binding strips form a solid spine for the bound material. The binding does not allow the material to lie flat when opened. Removal of the binding requires cutting the strip. A new set of binding strips is need to rebind the material.
