DVD RECORDING

Thinking about transferring your VHS video programs to DVD? CIS has ungraded its video duplication service to include the recording of high quality video and audio onto DVD-R discs. DVDs have been gaining popularity over the years as the preferred medium for storing and viewing video programs.

While DVD-R format offers the best compatibility for home and classroom DVD players, playback is not guaranteed. Playback may not be possible due to compatibility issues with various players, the DVD-R disc, or the condition of the recording.

Video Quality and Recording Times - There are four recording modes one may select from that affect the recorded image quality and recording time. XP (High quality) provides 1 hour of video; SP (Normal), 2 hours; LP (Long Play) 4 hours; and EP (Extra Long Play), 6 hours.

DVD Menu - As a stand-alone DVD recorder, this unit does NOT provide the flexibility of customizing the background image for the title and program selection screen. A blue background using a white Courier-type font is standard.

DVD Title - You may request up to 40 characters for a DVD title.

Programs - Multiple programs may be recorded onto the disc. Each program can be identified by a title no more than 44 characters in length. Each program is divided into five-minute chapters that may be accessed by the |<< or >>| buttons on your DVD remote control but not through the DVD menu (chapter menu is NOT provided).
