Monitoring Media Equipment in Classrooms
Extron’s GlobalViewer Enterprise server-based software is used to monitor the “health” of AV systems in Manoa’s general-use classrooms. This software allows us to
- Determine whether classroom AV systems are operational.
- Periodically check lamp hours and receive automatic notification when projector lamps require replacement
- Program systems to shut down after a period of inactivity or at a specified time of day (in the event the projectors are inadvertently left on)
When faculty call for assistance technicians can bring up the controls for AV system to verify that the projector is “on” and the proper input is selected.
Projectors can also be monitored to assure proper function.
