Some common classroom issues that users run into are listed below. Click on the arrows next to each problem to learn how to remedy these issues.
Troubleshooting your Display
My podium monitor is not in sync with what is on the projection screen, or displaying the correct image:
Check if the computer monitor is powered on (button normally located on the bottom right of the monitor)
Check if the “Video Mute” button has been selected on the touch panel located on top of the podium. The “Video Mute” button is usually located on the top left of the touch panel like shown below in red
Note: Touch panel may look slightly different than what is shown in the above example.
Check that under PC display settings you are in mirrored mode See article on Duplicating your Display
The projector is on but I don't see my computer displayed on it:
Select the proper input on the touch panel (usually located on the podium)
Select PC if using the in-room computer
Select HDMI if using your own laptop
Check if the “Video Mute” button has been selected on the touch panel located on top of the podium. The “Video Mute” button is usually located on the top left of the touch panel like shown below in red
Note: Touch panel may look slightly different than what is shown in the above example.
If the correct input is selected but your selected input still won’t display, select “Power Down” on the touch panel and confirm you want to turn off the system. Wait about a minute for the system to turn completely off, then power the system on again
Troubleshooting Audio
The audio from the podium PC is not loud enough:
Check the volume on the touch panel and increase it by either turning the knob in the center, or using the up arrow on the right
Check the application’s sound settings and level (e.g. if showing a YouTube video, make sure the volume on your YouTube video is up)
Check the PC’s sound settings to ensure “HDMI to Extron Audio” is selected
Troubleshooting Zoom
Sharing Content Over Zoom from a HOT Classroom:
Ensure you are using the in-room computer to connect to Zoom
Ensure the Meeting Host’s settings allow Screen Sharing
If you are sharing audio over Zoom (e.g. playing a video), ensure you have the “Share computer sound” box checked off before prior to sharing
If you are sharing content from the in-room document camera, you may need to select the appropriate camera prior to sharing See article on Sharing Document Camera on Zoom
